Sodium Lactate:

This clear liquid is a natural humectant, moisturizer and pH regulator it has also been known to create a harder bar of soap. Normal rate of addition is suggested at 1/2 ounce per pound of oils. There has been many statements about this additive making cp soap harder, I personally tested this clear liquid and I will add after 3 seperate batch this liquid does work wonders. I worked with 1/2 ounce first then 1/4 ounce per pound of oils. My own personal choice is 1/4 ounce per pound of oils. This product will increase trace and you must be available to cut your soap well within 24 hours. I made soap in the morning and by dinner time that night I was taking it from the mold and cutting my soap. It did make a tremendous difference in the hardness and the ease of removing it from the molds.
